Hey!

So…in an effort to post more on my blog, create some personal artwork that I can share on Instagram (I typically can’t share my licensing work, which is what I’m working on 99% of the time) and just inspire myself and hopefully others, I’m bringing trend boards back! I used to do these weekly and they’re really fun to create. I’m hoping to create a new board for each month, and then create my personal designs around the theme, including using a specific color palette.

I have made some designs for personal projects like this before and those designs went on to be licensed with some pretty awesome companies. So this is a good way to branch out creatively and try to stay on-trend.

If you’re a fellow artist, I hope these trend boards inspire you! If you’re not a fellow artist, maybe you’ll find something cool on one of these boards, or maybe you’ll just enjoy looking at some pretty artwork and products! :)

For February, the obvious trend is Valentine’s day. I think the designs and products on this board show a modernized version of Valentine’s day, with funky hand lettering and icons and striking color combinations (I’m a sucker for combining red and pink together in an almost-clashing kind-of way). All of the designs that I’ll be sharing on IG for February will have a girly palette with pinks and reds and will feature some pretty cheesy puns (I looooove a good pun.)
